I am in love with the upstate New York area, especially Lake George. What a cool place and a throw back to the slower vacation days of lazing in a hammock drinking lemonade. The nickel tour by Sandy and Gary Wensley included driving tours of Lake George and Saratoga Springs, drinks and charcuterie on the patio at The Sagamore (wow what a place) overlooking Lake George, a Lake George cruise, a Moonshine Distillery tasting, feeding chipmunks by hand in their yard, and a concert by David Bromberg at Skidmore College. (what a beautiful venue….go there if you have the chance!) We had a fantastic time visiting with our travel idols (yes, they travel more than us….at least so far! We plan on catching up!)

Five years ago, we stayed in The Boathouse B&B IN Lake George (literally sits IN the lake) for our 25th anniversary and ate dinner at the Sagamore. What a beautiful area!

We loved beautiful Lake George also. There is a section of wilderness along the northwest section of the lake well known for sasquatch sightings!

We will keep that in mind next time we are in that area!

We used to go camping on Lake George and in the Adirondacks when we lived in Washingtonville, NY (2 hours south near West Point). The town is pretty commercial, but the lake views and homes are spectacular! I miss that part of NY!
