Cannot believe this is the last day on the ship but I think we are all ready to disembark. It has been great but the ship is getting a little small.
Todays stop was Isafjordur. A quick bus ride with a few viewpoint stops to taste some local foods: dried haddock, chocolate, local flavored salt, this one was licorice salt (they are very big on licorice here and Denmark) and the licorice salt was surprisingly delicious. The tour guide suggested using it in baking and maybe on brownies or ice cream.
Next stop was at the Holt Hotel which was a charming little B&B and the owner spoke with us about her 120 sheep and how they are raised. We had a slice of Happy Marriage cake (a kind of crumble with rhubarb jam in the middle) and tea/coffee.

Last stop was at a small harbor and the local beer was served. None of us drink beer but the story of the cow that this beer was named after was sweet.

behind the little church

Jackie and I walked around the town a bit and found a few things that we have been keeping our eyes on cheaper here. Prices for the same thing are all over the map!!
