The walk to the wharf was short, several minutes at best; the road paved, the scenery drop dead gorgeous. We strolled past several fishing village huts and walked up to the first door we saw that was open. The catch was in and being weighed and sorted. “Got any to sell?” “Sure…how big?” “you pick”. That is how we ended up with two of the most glorious and freshest lobsters ever seen on our plates for the rock bottom price of $5 per pound! Hurriedly, we started the water boiling, gave thanks to the lobsters for the lovely meal we would have courtesy of them and set a Table for Two.

We stayed in a very interesting place in Head of Cheezetook, Nova Scotia. First off, Nova Scotia is absolutely breathtakingly beautiful! New Brunswick was very nice but Nova Scotia beats it hands down….rocky outcroppings, little islands with nothing but pines on them, water everywhere. Let’s face it, if your property in Nova Scotia does not have a water view, you have done something wrong. Head of Cheezetook is about 30 minutes outside of the city of Dartmouth (Halifax). Driving down a one lane road with surf almost touching it on both sides, we anxiously anticipated our stay minutes from the Fisherman’s Reserve.
The walk from the car to the “studio” was, well, see for yourself:
The accommodations were one step up from camping…foam beds, provisional toilet, water hooked up from a Coleman jug…

…but the rustic beauty and serenity were 5 star! Living on the water, we realized at low tide that the smell is different from the usual Lancaster County smells….this smell is more along the lines of rotting fish. But with nature you take the good with the bad and we ate the good for lunch!
There was another Airbnb’er in the main house and he was, hold onto your hats, from Hempfield….10 minutes from our Lititz house!!
Wow! How beautiful!

Very serene…love the walkway. At least two steps up from camping…indoor toilet and running water! How much did those yummy lobsters weigh?
