It seems like whenever we get together with my sister, it is a holiday and everything is just generally crazy or we meet somewhere in the middle for dinner and time is always too short for a really good visit. Well, we got in a really good visit with my sister, Lynnette and brother in law, Rick.
First we celebrated the marriage of friend and neighbor, Alaina, at a lovely ceremony and dinner reception. Thanks so much for including us. We drove to Delaware after the wedding so arrived late Sunday evening. Monday was a beach day at Cape Henlopen. The beach was not too crowded and the water was pretty cold but we had a great day just lounging and hanging out with each other. We boarded a sunset cruise on Rehoboth Bay and basked in the slow pace and lovely temperature. We capped off the evening with astoundingly good crab cakes at Woody’s in Dewey Beach.

Tuesday was time for housekeeping duties….doing a load of laundry, paying bills, etc. Then off to Mecca…Dogfish Head Brewery in Milton. I actually had 3 sips of a beer, probably the most beer I have had at one time my whole life! Well, it was Chocolate Lobster Beer…..I had to! Homemade Ice Cream in Lewes was followed by an amazing storm with horizontal rain! We were treated to a fabulous home made Surf ‘n Turf (Filet and Scallop) dinner while we watched the storm rage. The rain did not last too long but the lightning lasted for 5 hours….I kid you not. We watched the lightning from all directions for 5 hours with a gorgeous sunset in the middle of it!
The good bye’s are getting harder. The saving grace here was that we know we will see them again in January.
Thanks so much, Lynnette and Rick, for the gourmet meals, the great wine, and two days of just hanging out with my sister. Loved every minute of it!
Love Lewes and Henlope n. Heading there this summer. Fun to read your posts!

Love the pics. I know all the places you named which is unusual for reading your blog. Lynette and I will have to get together every once in awhile to keep from missing you both too much.
