We were waitlisted for the excursion that we wanted but in the meantime we decided we would do our own thing. We walked into the town and did a lot of shopping damage. Stores here were about the best shopping we have found.

We booked a 2 hour driving tour for the afternoon with Joesph, a 24 year old Norwegian who was cute, funny, and informative. A constant thread running throughout Norway is that people love where the live and really don’t ever plan on leaving. Joseph spoke lovingly about is family (his mom especially) and when we stopped at one stop, his grandfather jusst happened to be there hiking. 

The walk up to the lighthouse was a littl challenging but the view was great. Across the water was Kannesteinen, which is a mushroom shaped rock sculpgted by thousands of years of crashing waves and ocean erosion. A quick stop in a little fishing village rewarded us with interesting house paintings.
