So our first port was Kristiansand. We hopped on a RIB boat, an inflatable, and sped through the Olaf Strait to a small island, Vara Battery, that was occupied by 200 Nazis and 500 Russian prisoners. They built a fort, Movik Fort, and a huge highway of tunnels throughout the island to support their cannons and antiaircraft guns. The war ended after several more months so they did not get the tunnels finished but the feat was impressive nonetheless. What a beautiful Island and strait with adorable little houses built into the rocks. 

The cruise passengers are about 80% Americans so they threw a (pretty lame) Fourth of July party which Jackie and I went to for a bit and celebrated with Chocolate Martinis.
